Happy 2020! It’s going to be a great year for the Twin Cities Jewish community—here’s a quick [partial!] list of moments we’re excited for this year:

Share Shabbat

The dream: a Jewish community that’s empowered, engaged, and inspired to reach its full potential. That’s why we’re excited about Share Shabbat, a social challenge designed to empower you to celebrate Shabbat in your home, with your friends, however you choose to do so. Mark your calendar for February 21!

Visiting Israel as often as possible

This month the Twin Cities sends its second group of new-ish couples to Israel for Honeymoon Israel, and a trip for Israel newbies departs in June. Bring on the Israeli breakfasts!

Sharing the results of the Twin Cities Jewish population study

This spring, even if the snow hasn’t melted and the flowers are far from blooming, at least we’ll be able to peruse the results of the latest Twin Cities Jewish population study.

The YALA Leadership Series

New this year, The YALA Leadership Series joins the Federation suite of leadership programs. This opportunity is designed for aspiring leaders under 40. If you’re on the fence, YALA is hosting a free “taster” session February 4th at Modernwell. Check it out and see if this series is for you!

Super Funday

Mark your calendars for Sunday, March 1—our campaign kickoff and one of the most fun days of the year, Super Funday! We’re going to go ahead and guess it’s going to be colder than we want it to be that day—why not join us at Punch Bowl Social for this free day of family fun! Challenge your rabbi to a ping pong match, belt out Don’t Stop Believin’ in the karaoke room with your kids, or grab a drink with a new friend.

And a bonus thing!

This month and next, experience a taste of Yemeni-Israeli culture with the Spice and Fragrance Yemenite cooking class and a conversation with author Ayelet Tsabiri, author of the beautiful memoir in essays The Art of Leaving
